Hello and welcome!
My name is Alex Ringenbach, and this website is the result of a project carried out during my first year of MMi in Montbéliard.
Through this work, I wanted to highlight the Matilda Effect, a phenomenon that exposes the erasure of women in the history of science. Too often, their discoveries have been attributed to men, their names forgotten, their voices silenced.
This website is my way of paying tribute to these researchers, pioneers, and passionate women who helped advance science without always receiving the recognition they deserved.
By exploring the different sections, you will discover their journeys, their struggles, and also the way culture and media can today contribute to their rehabilitation.
This project allowed me to connect history, science, and digital creation, while developing a particular sensitivity to the issue of women’s visibility in our societies.
I hope it will inspire you, too, to question what we think we know… and to give back a place to those who have lost it.
